Located South East of Alice Springs this high pillar was used by travellers as a guide post that could be seen for a great distance.

As a light sea mist comes across from the horizon with a salt pier in the distance.

The small concrete block with stainless steel plate is one of many memorials along this stretch of coast, mostly in memory of people that have been swept away by "King waves"

In 2005, very little remains after 9 metre tides and the crashing "King waves" the West Australian coast near Quobba are well known for, have had their way.

The Korean Star was broken in half by a Cyclone on the WA coast , June 1988. These images are scanned from our developed 35mm prints taken in 1989, after explosives were used to settle the two halves of the wreck and all possible salvage had taken place.
The location is down a steep cliff and the narrow track left by the salvage firm the only access down to the rocks.

In 2005 we lead a group of vehicles on a trip through the Australian Centre, and here we are camped for the night on the end of a World War Two airfield in Central Australia
